Yep, Snappy Tomato Pizza is about to unleash another cicada pizza jingle.
People who were here in '87 for the last emergence are still singing "snap, snap, snappy cicada pizza." They're also sending Snappy marketing director Bret Witte e-mails asking if he'll do it again.
The new one, set to debut in mid-May, will celebrate the cicada but also point out that Snappy does not put them on its pizzas.
"There were so many people in 1987 who thought we actually had a cicada pizza. We never did, and we want people to know that," Witte said.
Come mid-May, you'll hear the jingle on Snappy commercials.
