Ron Bohmer, a veteran of Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and The Scarlet Pimpernel and currently starring off-Broadway in The Joys of Sex, returns home May 10 to star in a benefit concert for his alma mater, School for Creative and Performing Arts.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. at SCPA (1310 Sycamore St., Over-the-Rhine) followed by a post-performance reception. Tickets are $25, $50 and $100. For reservations and information, call the box office at 363-8100.
Purchase the $50 or $100 ticket and you're invited to attend Bohmer's musical theater audition workshop from 4 to 6 p.m.
Brown bowls 'em over: I always tell you College-Conservatory of Music is where to see the stars of tomorrow today. Watch this career: Ashley Brown, Class of 2004, participated in musical theater's New York City showcase earlier this month.
We know Brown's soaring soprano from The Boys from Syracuse, Candide, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood to name a few. New York casting agents were so bowled over calls started coming in between the two showcases, including one from Disney.
Brown has signed to headline, with Emily (Side Show) Skinner in the new Disney revue, On the Record, that begins a national tour in Cleveland on Nov. 19. CCM grad Tyler Maynard is also in the show. Brown is also talking a CD with Fynsworth Alley.
New baby: Congrats to Clear Stage artistic director Troy Bausch and wife Andrea, who welcomed son Jack Andrew (8 pounds, 5 ounces) on Wednesday, just about 24 hours before the curtain went up on The Yellow Boat, which Bausch is directing at the Aronoff's Fifth Third Bank Theater. Talk about a memorable week.

Loveland celebrates: Loveland Stage Company celebrates 25 years with an anniversary gala on May 15. "Star Struck" will include live music, food and silent auction.
Tickets are $25 and benefit a planned theater addition. . The goal is to raise $15,000 for each of the next five years to pay for the construction. For reservations and information, call 683-0413.
SCPA grad on stage: If plans take you to Louisville between now and mid-May, know that Rachel Leslie, 1992 grad of School for Creative and Performing Arts, is on stage at Actors Theatre of Louisville starring in Blues for an Alabama Sky.
Her proud mom Carol Leslie reports that her daughter graduated from George Washington University in 1995, earned her MFA in acting from Temple University in 1998 and has a resume that includes major regional theaters and off-Broadway.
