SHARONVILLE - A brief traffic pursuit by Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies ended early Wednesday morning when the suspect's vehicle rammed two county police cruisers on U.S. 42, just north of Interstate 275.
Shots were fired and the suspect was wounded, a deputy involved in the pursuit reported. The wounded suspect was treated at the scene by life squad personnel and then transported to Bethesda North Hospital. An Air Care helicopter on standby was disregarded.
There were no initial reports of the deputies being injured.
The pursuit started about 1:38 a.m. near the intersection of Kemper and Montgomery Roads in Sycamore Township and ended with the crash about 1:45 a.m. at the Sharonville location. The suspect's vehicle was being pursued for a traffic violation, authorities said.
U.S. 42 was closed in both directions following the incident.
