DOWNTOWN - A pizza maker was shot to death early Thursday after what police suspect was a struggle with a robber.
Robbie Harris left work at Uno's on Walnut Street about 11:30 p.m., said Shawn McGreevy, the restaurant's general manager. Harris was shot to death less than an hour later, little more than a block away at Seventh and Vine streets. Harris, who friends said lived with his mother in Winton Terrace, would have turned 36th birthday next Tuesday.
Witnesses stayed to talk to police, said Capt. Vince Demasi, investigations commander. At a time when police often say witnesses are too abraid or uninterested to help police, Demasi said this time, citizens pointed to where the suspect ran.
Officers followed that trail and, a few minutes later, arrested a 17-year-old boy from Clifton. The teen was charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
Harris' was the 26th homicide in Cincinnati this year.
