FORT THOMAS - A Fort Thomas-based Army Reserve engineer unit will receive the Presidential Unit Citation for service in Iraq.
The 478th Engineer Battalion will receive the award Saturday morning during a ceremony at the Army Reserve Center in Fort Thomas. The battalion of about 450 soldiers served with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force after being mobilized in March 2003.
Individual soldiers also will be recognized for awards earned while mobilized and deployed.

The battalion has 450 members from Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
