Six face federal drug, weapons charges
Federal authorities continue to investigate an alleged multistate drug and weapons ring following the arrests of six people from Greater Cincinnati.
Fred Alverson, spokesman for U.S. Attorney's Office in Columbus, identified the suspects as Noah O'Bryan, 24, 531 Indian Lake Drive, Maineville; Manuel Salazar, 25, also of the Maineville address; Jennifer Costello, 24; Robert Miller, 22; Bradley Carroll, 23; and Devor Rom, 22. Authorities said Costello, Miller, Carroll and Rom live in Cincinnati, but did not provide specific addresses.
All face federal gun and drug charges contained in an indictment from New York City. A spokesman from that office did not return repeated phone calls.
Alverson said more arrests are expected.
The suspects were arraigned Wednesday in federal court and are scheduled to appear in court again Monday.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were also involved.
Authorities from those agencies referred questions to New York officials.
Collision with school bus kills woman
WEST MANCHESTER - A woman was killed Wednesday when her car collided with a school bus carrying a high school softball team. No one on the bus was seriously injured.
Judith Denlinger, 51, of West Manchester, died instantly, said Lt. Art Combest of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Combest said investigators had not determined what caused Denlinger's car to cross the center line of U.S. 127 in Preble County and crash head-on into the bus. The bus was carrying the coach and 14 members of the Carroll High School softball team from Riverside.
Denlinger's car was headed north on the highway, and the bus was southbound when the accident occurred about 5:30 p.m., said Combest.
Thirteen people were taken to hospitals for evaluation. One student suffered a facial injury, but no one else was injured, said school athletic director James Kuntz.

Teen's vehicle hits five cars in parking garage
MOUNT AUBURN - A teen driver lost control of his vehicle and smashed into five cars inside a private parking garage Thursday.
No one was hurt.
Devon Price, 18, of Springfield Township, is charged with failure to control, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under suspension. He also was unable to provide proof of insurance, police said.
Price was driving southbound on Reading Road about 8:40 a.m. when his vehicle crossed the double- yellow line and went into the parking garage between Elsinore Place and Eden Park Drive.
Price's car struck five vehicles, police said, and landed on top of one.
Both Price and his 17-year-old passenger left the scene, but officers later found them, police said.
Police name suspect in Levee attack on girl
NEWPORT - Police think they know who attacked a 13-year-old girl at Newport on the Levee.
Police issued a warrant for Robert Ladriere, 40, of Covington, charging him with criminal attempt to commit kidnapping.
On May 1, the teen was coming out of a restroom stall when a man grabbed her by the arm and throat and tried to push her back into the stall, police said.
She fought back and was able to escape, police said. Her neck was bruised, but did not need medical attention.
Police received a tip about the attacker's identity. The girl then picked Ladriere from a group of pictures, they said.
Detectives also had pictures from cameras at the Levee.
Anyone with information about Ladriere is asked to call police at (859) 292-3622 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
