Tour de Cure June 5

OXFORD - Recreational and serious cyclists are invited to participate in the Tour de Cure fund-raising event June 5 at Hueston Woods State Park. Proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association in its efforts to raise money for diabetes research.

Hosted by the Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky office, the ride features 8- and 16-mile recreational routes through the park, and 30- and 60-mile road routes for those who want a more-serious challenge. Mason band performs Sunday

MASON - The Mason Community Band will present its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium at Mason Middle School, 770 S. Mason-Montgomery Road. Information: 398-1320.

PeeWee hockey has tryouts

OXFORD - PeeWee AA ice hockey tryouts will be at Goggin Ice Arena on the campus of Miami University from 8:20 to 9:30 p.m. June 18 and 6:15 to 7:20 p.m. June 19. A conditioning session will be from 6:25 to 7:35 p.m. June 12. Tryout participants must register by May 31. A registration form is available online at www.usahockey.com/bcyha/. Equestrian clinic at Winton

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP - Equestrians may participate in several riding clinics and an open schooling day at Winton Woods Riding Center, 10073 Daly Road:

Cindy Bruns will conduct a riding clinic at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. Sunday. Emmett Wyane will teach handlers to help their horses overcome fear and skittishness during a six-hour session beginning at noon June 6. Call 931-3057 to register. The cost is $25 per person for each clinic.

Riders may bring their mounts to the Riding Center for open schooling day noon-6 p.m. June 6. Admission of $15 per horse allows use of the indoor riding arena, two outdoor arenas and the jump field. Information: GreatParks.org.

'Walk for Baby Zoey' today

LAWRENCEBURG - There will be a "Walk for Baby Zoey" to benefit Zoey Banschbach-Russ, a 5-month-old diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Lawrenceburg High School track, 100 Tiger Boulevard. This is an open-walk benefit - walk as little or as much as you like.

Registration forms will be on-site. Participation fee is $10; $15 donors receive an event T-shirt. There will also be food and beverages, kiddie games, a cornhole tournament and raffle. Information: Megan Marine at (812) 290-8487.
