Solar energy event
ALEXANDRIA - Learn about solar energy at 1 p.m. Monday with the Campbell County Extension Service at the Environmental Education Center at 1261 Race Track Road.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the extension service's solar energy project.
Sixth-grade students from St. Therese School in Southgate will demonstrate uses of solar energy.

FLORENCE - Internet users can listen to Florence Freedom games at www.florencefreedom.com. The team started the season with a 26-game road trip Friday in Evansville, Ind. The team's first home game will be June 18.

Aquatic Center opens
FLORENCE - The Florence Aquatic Center will open at 11 a.m. May 29.
The season will end on Labor Day on Sept. 6.
Swimming in Burlington
BURLINGTON - The public pool at the new R.C. Durr YMCA in Burlington opens June 3.
Boone County residents can use the pool for a daily fee.
