Women sought for three studies
Women in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky can sign up for one of three national breast cancer studies through the University of Cincinnati. One study will test whether digital mammography is better at spotting tumors than conventional film techniques. Of nearly 50,000 participants nationwide, 1,000 will be studied at UC. Another study is testing whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can detect cancer in cases missed by standard mammography. A third study looks at the role ultrasound scans may play in detecting breast cancer. For information, call Monene Kamm at (513) 584-5338 or Lisa Shiveley at 584-2179.
