Developer puts on hold Deerfield retail plan
DEERFIELD TWP. - Plans for the northern part of the proposed Shoppes of Deerfield retail center are on hold indefinitely.
Township trustees were scheduled to hear the case at a recent meeting, but the developer has asked that plans be tabled until further notice.
The township zoning commission denied the plans, which proposed four retail structures and three restaurants on 15.5 acres along Mason-Montgomery Road.
Township trustees are still weighing the proposed south part of Shoppes, to be anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter. Many residents have opposed the plans, citing traffic, storm water and quality of life concerns.
