Cincinnati Ladyhawks
Weekend Review: Ladyhawks lost games Friday and Saturday to the Cleveland
Internationals, 3-1 and 3-0. Tesha Kozlowski was the star for Cleveland, scoring
in both games, including two in Saturday's win. Newcomer Jen Gaylor scored
the Ladyhawks' lone goal. The two losses drop the Ladyhawks to 0-4 on the season.
Top Performers: Despite giving up six goals in two games, goalkeeper Leah Miller continues to show the shot-stopping ability which saw her named player of the week for last week.
Injuries: They continue to mount in the short season. The first three games saw three different players taken off the field with severe injuries.
Kim Comisar (Lakota West, Purdue University) broke a bone in her foot in the first game at Detroit and is out for the season. Rana Hoffbauer (Walnut Hills, Marian College) sprained tendons in her ankle in the second game, missed this weekend and is questionable for the next game.
Jen Gaylor was taken off the field just after scoring in Friday night's game. Results from an MRI are pending, but the outlook is not good for her to return this year. In addition, two players have been diagnosed with tonsillitis, another is trying to play with a hernia and four others played over the weekend with serious ankle sprains
Upcoming Week: The Ladyhawks look to avenge their 1-0 loss to Detroit in the opener this weekend. The Jaguars come to Cincinnati Saturday with kickoff at 7 p.m. at Lakota West Soccer Stadium. Tickets: $7 adults; $4 students; kids under 5 free.
