EAST END - A historic B-25 World War II bomber, the Barbie III, will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Lunken Airport, 262 Wilmer Ave., to commemorate the dedication of the WWII Memorial in Washington and the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. The Barbie III is the only flying "H" model of a B-25, the same type aircraft used by the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders.
In addition to static display tours, warbird rides will be available for a donation. Information: www.cincinnatiwarbirds.org.
MOUNT HEALTHY - Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, will observe Memorial Day with a WWII display, a guest speaker and a 21-gun salute.
In the Arlington Community Center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Monday, there will be a memorabilia display; "Echoes of the Greatest Generation" storytelling by WWII vets; and a video of the network television broadcast of the dedication ceremony of the World War II National Memorial.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, there will be a flag-raising ceremony with a 21-gun salute and doves of peace release. Retired Maj. Tom Griffin, a participant in Jimmy Doolittle's raid over Tokyo, will give the keynote address.

SHARONVILLE - Local VFW Post 4369 will hold a WWII Memorial dedication ceremony at noon Saturday at Nurre-Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10211 Plainfield Road, Evendale. A cookout will follow the ceremony. At 2 p.m., the satellite feed of the National World War II Memorial dedication ceremonies will be shown on the main level. The public is invited; seating is limited.
WEST END - A WWII-style swing dance and USO show to honor local veterans and benefit the Tri-State Warbird Museum will be held 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the Museum Center at Union Terminal. The show, sponsored by the Cincinnati Warbirds, will feature Tom Daughtery's Orchestra, a group that re-creates the Glenn Miller Army Air Corps Band of the 1940s, along with swing dancers from Cincyswing.com. Prizes will be handed out for the best period costumes and authentic World War II uniforms. Admission: $20 at the door.
