Blue Ash - The city will host the 52nd annual Blue Ash Civic League Community Parade from 10:15-11:30 a.m. Monday. As a result of parade activities and the Veterans Memorial Ceremony following the parade, road closings will occur from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

Reed Hartman Highway south of Carver Road, Cooper Road from Reed Hartman to Hunt Road, Kenwood Road from Cooper south to Hunt and Hunt north from Kenwood to Cooper will be closed at various times.

Cheviot - The Cincinnati Warbirds Association flies three of its WWII-era propeller-driven airplanes in formation over Cheviot during the Memorial Day Parade, 11 a.m. Monday. Colerain Township - Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Road at Kemper Road, will honor veterans with a reading, prayers and music at 1 p.m. Monday. Information: 851-7170.

East End - A historic B-25 WWII bomber, the Barbie III, will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday at Lunken Airport, 262 Wilmer Ave., to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day and the dedication of the WWII Memorial in Washington. The Barbie III is the only Flying H Model of a B-25, the same type aircraft used by the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders.

Evendale - VFW Post 4369 of Sharonville will hold a WWII memorial dedication at noon Saturday at Nurre-Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10211 Plainfield Road, Evendale. A cookout will follow the ceremony. At 2 p.m., the satellite feed of the national World War II Memorial dedication ceremonies will be shown on the main level. The public is invited; seating is limited.

Harrison - Amvets Post No. 13 will host a ceremony at 1 p.m. Sunday at 515 S. State Road. A flag park with a flag representing each branch of service and a memorial with the names of the post's deceased will be dedicated. Hyde Park - Hyde Park/Mount Lookout American Legion Post 744 will hold services at 11 a.m. Monday in Hyde Park Square, 11:30 a.m. in Mount Lookout Square and noon at Pioneer Cemetery in Linwood.

Indian Hill - Horizon Community Church will hold a memorial service 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Cincinnati Country Day School, 6905 Given Road. The theme of the service will be "How Should I Feel About War?"

The event will include drama, arts and music by the Horizon Band. There will be child care and programs for children of all ages. The service is open to the public. Information: 272-5800.

Indian Hill - Armstrong Chapel, at 5125 Drake Road, will present a 126th Memorial Day observance at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The event will be a full program with musical selections, raising of the flag, roll call of deceased veterans, invocation, benediction, "Taps," lowering of the flag and more. Boy Scout Troop 502, the Indian Hill High School Brass Ensemble and other guests will participate.

Miamitown - The community's 115th annual Memorial Day parade starts at noon Monday at Miamitown Elementary School, Ohio 128 and Mill Street. The parade will end at the Historic Town Hall for a brief service and then participants will walk to Miamitown Cemetery to honor the country's fallen heroes. Information: 353-3111.

Mount Healthy - American Legion Post 513 hosts a parade that begins at 2 p.m. Monday at Hastings and Hamilton avenues. The parade will end at the Veterans Memorial on McMakin Avenue where a short ceremony will be held. Information: 608-9051.

Mount Healthy - Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, will observe Memorial Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Monday in the Arlington Community Center. The observance will include a WWII memorabilia display, "Echoes of the Greatest Generation," storytelling by WWII veterans and a video of the television broadcast of the dedication ceremony of the WWII Memorial in Washington.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, there will be a flag-raising ceremony with a 21-gun salute and doves of peace release. Retired Maj. Tom Griffin, a survivor of the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, will give the keynote address. The commemoration is free and open to the public. For information and directions, call 521-7003.

North College Hill - A parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clovernook Center, 7000 Hamilton Ave., and ends with a memorial ceremony at City Hall, 1646 W. Galbraith Road. Information: 521-7413.

Norwood - The city will hold services at 1 p.m. Monday at Victory Park, located at Montgomery and Mills roads, to honor and thank local veterans. Residents will be invited to speak.

The event is sponsored by the Victory Park Veterans Committee and American Legion Post No. 123.

Pleasant Ridge - The Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, 5950 Montgomery Road, will host a worship service and picnic in its historic cemetery at noon Monday. Revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers are buried in the cemetery, which dates to 1795.

Queensgate - The Cincinnati Warbirds will sponsor a WWII-style swing dance and USO show from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal. The event will honor local veterans and commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day.

Reading - Color guards, floats and bands will march in the 95th annual Memorial Day Parade at 9 a.m. Monday. The parade, which will begin at the Arlington Heights Police Department, will take a new route this year along Benson Street to Market Street and then Vine Street, concluding with a ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Reading Cemetery on Columbia Avenue.

The ceremony honoring the nation's veterans, particularly those of Reading, Lockland and Arlington Heights, will include a recitation of the Gettysburg Address, the playing of "Taps" and a 21-gun salute.

Sharonville - The city will hold a reception for all veterans and current military members at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Patriot Pointe. The public is then invited to a ceremony at 1 p.m. with the Sharonville Police and VFW color guards, invocation, speakers, gun salute, "Taps" and the awarding of certificates of appreciation to all current military and veterans in attendance.

Walnut Hills - Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 10 will hold its annual Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. Monday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Eden Park. The service is open to all veterans, their families and the public.

West End - A WWII-style swing dance and USO show to honor local veterans and benefit the Tri-State Warbird Museum will be held 7-11 p.m. Saturday at Museum Center at Union Terminal.

The show, sponsored by the Cincinnati Warbirds, will feature Tom Daughtery's Orchestra, a group that recreates the Glenn Miller Army Air Corps Band of the 1940s, along with swing dancers from Cincyswing.com. Prizes will be handed out for the best period costumes and authentic World War II uniforms. Admission: $20 at the door.

Wyoming - The Wyoming Fire Department will hold its annual Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. Monday at the gazebo on the village green. Campbell County

BELLEVUE-DAYTON - The 75th Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Monument in Dayton at Sixth and Main streets.

The parade continues west on Sixth Street through Dayton, then west on Fairfield Avenue through Bellevue and ends at the Bellevue Vets at 24 Fairfield Ave.

ALEXANDRIA - The 44th Alexandria Memorial Day Parade will start at 2 p.m. Sunday may30 at Campbell County Middle School at 8000 Alexandria Pike.

The parade is sponsored by Campbell County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3205 in Alexandria. The post's commander, Dick Heck, is this year's grand marshal.

The parade route from Alexandria Pike heads south on Washington Street, then west on Main Street, turns onto Spillman Drive and ends at the V.F.W. Post at 8261 Alexandria Pike.

Boone County

FLORENCE - The sixth annual Memorial Day Parade and Program begins at Boone County High School at 10 a.m. Monday. may31

The parade will head west on Ky. 18 from the high school, then South on Ewing Boulevard to the Boone County Veterans Memorial near the Florence Government Center at 8100 Ewing Blvd.

A patriotic program at the memorial will include a welcome by the mayor, a 21-gun salute, a flag-raising ceremony by military veterans and the playing of "Taps" by the Florence Police Honor Guard and the Florence Community Band.

Kenton County

PARK HILLS - The annual parade starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday may31 at Northern Kentucky University's campus at 1401 Dixie Hwy.

The parade will flow along Mount Allan Road and conclude at the intersection of Amsterdam Road and Park Drive at Trolley Park.

A flag-raising ceremony will be held after the parade at the park. The theme for this year's parade is "Memorial Day 2004: What It Means To Me."

Students from Fort Wright Elementary and St. Agnes Elementary are participating in an essay contest of the same name.

The winner of the contest will read their 200 words or less patriotic paper at the flag raising ceremonies.

COVINGTON - A parade held by the United Veterans Memorial Day Committee will start from Holmes High School at 2 p.m. Monday. may31

The parade will head north on Madison Avenue to 19th Street, then on Holman Avenue to Linden Grove Cemetery.

At 3 p.m. Monday, all locations of Rempke Markets will observe one minute of silence.

Rempke Markets has locations in Newport, Fort Mitchell, Florence, Deer Park, Taylor Mill, Independence, Crescent Springs and Boone County location at 1299 Cox Ave.
