DELHI TOWNSHIP - Sister of Charity Mary Clementine Kasselmann, who was a teacher and reading specialist, died June 2 at Mother Margaret Nursing Hall. She was 99.
Sister Mary Clementine, who was a Sister of Charity for 77 years, taught primary grades at several area schools, including Saint Andrew in Milford, Saint Gabriel in Glendale and Saint Anthony in Madisonville.
"I loved every minute of it," she remarked in 1977. "I just loved the little children."
She spent from 1975 to 1982 tutoring people of all ages at the College of Mount Saint Joseph's reading lab.
Sister Mary Clementine earned a bachelor's degree in social studies from the College of Mount St. Joseph.
She was a teacher for 54 years in Ohio and Michigan.
"Sister was a grandmotherly first-grade teacher who held us all in her heart all our lives. She was a special lady who enjoyed life, and she had a chuckle that could warm your heart," said Sister Terry Thorman, a friend and fellow teacher.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Kasselmann and Sister of Charity Rita Maria Kasselmann; and three brothers, George, Charles and Joseph Kasselmann.
Surviving is a sister, Margaret Binzer.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Monday at Immaculate Conception Chapel at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, Delhi Township, followed by Mass of Christian burial.
Burial will be in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery, Delhi Township.
