PARIS - Xavier Malisse and Olivier Rochus of Belgium won their first Grand Slam men's doubles title, beating Fabrice Santoro and Michael Llodra of France 7-5, 7-5 Saturday at the French Open.
Llodra and Santoro, two-time Australian Open winners, failed in their bid to become the first French men's doubles champs at Roland Garros since Yannick Noah and Henri Leconte in 1984.
"We came up against a very good team, but the two weeks left us feeling a bit tired," Llodra said.

HINGIS' THOUGHTS: Martina Hingis took a verbal jab at former doubles partner Anna Kournikova.
Asked what it might be like to struggle with serving the way Elena Dementieva did in the French Open final, Hingis smiled, then said: "Ask Anna Kournikova, I don't know."
Kournikova once won an Australian Open singles match despite serving 23 double-faults, 13 more than Dementieva had Saturday.
Kournikova and Hingis won Australian Open doubles championships in 1999 and 2002.

FORMER CHAMP: Four-time Grand Slam title winner Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario did not enjoy the French Open final.
"They were both very nervous," the Spaniard said Saturday. "It was not a very good match."
Anastasia Myskina beat Elena Dementieva 6-1, 6-2 in the most lopsided French Open final since Steffi Graf beat Natasha Zvereva 6-0, 6-0 in 1988.
"Myskina controlled her nerves better and she was able to take advantage," Sanchez-Vicario said. "Dementieva wanted to win points too fast, she didn't try and defend or vary the game."
The two Russians are friends and grew up playing tennis together in Moscow.
"It was an awkward matchup, and an awkward match," said Myskina's coach, Jens Gerlach.
Sanchez-Vicario - who won the 1989, 1994 and 1998 French Opens and the 1994 U.S. Open - had some advice for Dementieva on how to approach a major final: "Play as if it's just another match," the Spaniard said.
Myskina's victory was the most one-sided in a Grand Slam title match since the 1994 Australian Open when Sanchez-Vicario lost to Graf 6-0, 6-2.

MYSKINA MAKES THREE: Anastasia Myskina is just the third woman to win the French Open after saving a match point during the tournament.
In the fourth round, she saved a match point at 5-6 in the third set against Svetlana Kuznetsova before winning 1-6, 6-4, 8-6.
The others did it by saving match points in the French Open final: Margaret Osbourne-Dupont in 1946 against Pauline Betz, and Margaret Smith-Court in 1962 against Lesley Turner.

RUSSIAN ANTHEM: For the first time after a Grand Slam final, the champion's national anthem was played during the trophy presentation.
While the Russian anthem rang through center court, the country's flag was raised in the stadium.
"We thought it would add something to the ceremony," French Open spokesman Christophe Proust said. "It's done at the Olympics, and it always seems to bring a bit of emotion."
Champion Anastasia Myskina appreciated the gesture.
"I was not crying, but it was really nice to hear the music," she said.
