Convergys lands tentative contract

Convergys Corp. has received tentative approval to provide human resources and payroll services for 46,000 employees of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The Cincinnati-based data processing and customer-care provider didn't released financial details but said the five-year agreement is expected to save the state $63 million. The agreement, with final terms still to be negotiated, is thought to be Convergys' largest government outsourcing agreement since a 2002 deal with Florida to provide care for 189,000 state employees. Convergys said it expects to open a new office in Austin to handle the Texas contract. Shares in Convergys closed at $15.07, up 11 cents.

About 50 classic Ford Mustangs will be on display from 5 to 9 p.m. today at John Nolan Ford at Ridge and Highland avenues in Columbia Township as part of a 40-city tour to mark the car's 40th anniversary. Most of the Mustangs on display are from the Tri-State Mustang Club. The exhibit also includes a new 2005 Mustang GT and Ford's 300 millionth car, a 2004 Mustang. Those two vehicles are part of a mobile display that will travel around Cincinnati Wednesday.
