Kentucky to do



Group to show video of plans for dog park

ERLANGER - The Friends of Kenton Paw Park will show a video on a proposed dog park for Kenton County at 7 p.m. today at the Kenton County Library's Erlanger Branch, 401 Kenton Lands Road.

A "paw park" is a fenced-in area where dogs can run off the leash and socialize with each other.

Library offers tips on playing stock market

NEWPORT - Get advice and basic tips on how to be successful in the stock market at 7 p.m. today at the Newport Branch of the Campbell County Public Library, 901 E. Sixth St.

Live amphibians, reptiles on display

Live reptiles and amphibians will be in two Boone County Public Library branches Thursday.

Scott Kelly with the Natural History Co., will bring them in to demonstrate the diversity in the animal kingdom.

At 11 a.m., Kelly and his animals will be at the Lents branch, 3215 Cougar Path, Hebron. The second show will be at 2 p.m. at the Walton branch, 21 S. Main St.

Music, fireworks highlight diocesan fest

FORT MITCHELL - The annual Diocesan Catholic Children's Home Festival with live music and a fireworks display will be Friday-Sunday.

Hours: 6-11 p.m. Friday; 4-11 p.m. Saturday ; and 4-10 p.m. Sunday. The fireworks display will be at dusk on Saturday.

The live music schedule includes Joel Young and the Juice on Friday, country singer Kevin Sharp on Saturday, and Glory Days on Sunday. Bingo will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Admission and parking will be free.

Italianfest 2004 set for Riverboat Row

NEWPORT - Italianfest 2004 will be at Newport's Riverboat Row Thursday-Sunday.

Events include food, live music and an "oldest Italian-American" ceremony each day. A fireworks show begins at 11 p.m. on Friday and the Spaghetti Nob Benefit-NPI River Walk begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. There will be an Italian cooking contest at 1 p.m. on Sunday .

Festival hours are: 6:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday; 5:30-11 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday ; and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.

Learn about collecting comic books at library

COLD SPRING - A history of comic books and how to start collecting them will be the topic of a free program for teens conducted by Mark Cradock from Comic Book World Inc., noon Saturday at the Campbell County Public Library, 3920 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring.

Hear Sinatra tunes at Scottish Rite Temple

COVINGTON - A free performance of Frank Sinatra songs by Fort Thomas singer Donald R. Fangman will be held at 8 p.m. June 18 at the Scottish Rite Temple in Covington.

Tickets are free, but required to reserve a seat. To receive free tickets, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Scottish Rite Temple, 1553 Madison Ave., Covington, KY 41011. There is a limit of six tickets per request, and there is seating for 850 people.
