The one-week fund-raiser 7 Days for SIDS kicked off with a $50 brunch at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal. Featured were delicacies from some of Greater Cincinnati's top chefs, including Jean-Robert de Cavel.

De Cavel and his wife, Annette Pfund, suffered the loss of their first daughter, Tatiana, to SIDS. With them at the brunch was their 8-week-old daughter, Laeticia.

Channel 12 anchor Cammy Dierking served as emcee. She was joined by her husband, John Graf, and their family. The couple lost their first daughter, Kylee, to SIDS.

Guests enjoyed champagne, waffles, braised lamb, eggs Frederick and strawberry- and banana-filled crepes.

An auction included round-trip tickets to Paris, courtesy of Air France.

Following the brunch, more than 30 restaurants participated in a week of special fund-raising events benefiting the Sudden Infant Death Network of Ohio and the Tatiana de Cavel Scholarship Fund at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State.

Besides de Cavel, participating chefs included David Falk of Boca, Jimmy Gherardi of J's Fresh Seafood, Guy Hulin of the Palace at the Cincinnatian, Paul Steinbronner of the Queen City Club, Bertrand Bouquin and Terry Quatkemeyer of the Maisonette, David Cook of Daveed's, Brian Brinkman of the Latin Quarter, Karen Crawford of Jean-Robert at Pigall's and Michael Cuffaro of JeanRo Bistro.
