Big day: Cyclists can get in on the Independence Day festivities in Hyde Park this year. The Hyde Park Blast Criterium bike race kicks off July 3. Make sure the surgeon is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Make sure the facility is accredited. Many office-based surgical facilities are not.
Make sure the surgeon has operating privileges in an accredited hospital for your procedure.
The consultation should be thorough, and include a frank discussion of risks and realistic benefits of the procedure.
Check the surgeon's experience in performing the procedure you seek.
Ask about follow-up care and policies for surgical revisions, if necessary.
