Tips

Nip: The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery offers these tips for selecting the right surgeon and facility for cosmetic procedures:

• Make sure the surgeon is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

• Make sure the facility is accredited. Many office-based surgical facilities are not.

• Make sure the surgeon has operating privileges in an accredited hospital for your procedure.

• The consultation should be thorough, and include a frank discussion of risks and realistic benefits of the procedure.

• Check the surgeon's experience in performing the procedure you seek.

• Ask about follow-up care and policies for surgical revisions, if necessary.

• Ask about costs. National averages can be found at www.surgery.org.

Healthy living

Flex: Here are the top 10 reasons to add yoga to your fitness routine, from the American Council on Exercise:

• Increased flexibility and reduced risk of injury.

• Improved breathing and concentration.

• Mind-body wellness.

• Improved strength and stamina.

• Reduced muscle imbalances.

• Improved posture.

• Greater body awareness.

• Reduced stress.

• Cross-training benefits.
