LEBANON - A pair of Maineville men have admitted guilt in a scheme to sell stolen golf clubs and electronic equipment on eBay.
Drew Leslie and Matthew Lun, both 21, are scheduled for sentencing July 29 on felony charges of telecommunications fraud, theft and breaking and entering.
The men, who each face up to four years in prison, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Common Pleas Court.
Warren County Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel said the men had admitted they profited about $12,000 from selling items that had been stolen from two golf stores and a camera store in Warren County.
The sheriff's office and Hutzel's Cybercrime Unit traced the online sales through serial numbers and bank accounts. Authorities are attempting to recover the stolen items from the online purchasers, Hutzel said.
The case shows that citizens need to exercise caution when buying items online, Hutzel said.
