Discounted brand-name clothing chain Gabriel Brothers Inc. will open its first two Southwest Ohio locations next week in Cherry Grove and Sharonville.

The Morgantown, W.Va.-based company will open a 52,000-square-foot store at 8576 Beechmont Ave. in the former Kmart building in Beechmont Square, and a 55,000-square-foot store in Sharonville Plaza at 12035 Lebanon Road.

Gabriel Brothers, informally known as Gabe's, has 11 Ohio locations, mostly in the western and northwestern parts of the state.

The Cincinnati stores will open July 8 and will each employ nearly 100 people. They will be the company's 34th and 35th locations, spanning five states.

"We've been looking for locations in the Cincinnati market for some time now. These two locations became available to us, and we're very excited," said John Cook, senior vice president of operations for Gabe's.

Gabe's specializes in the sale of discounted brand-name merchandise, mostly clothing and shoes, offering up to 70 percent discounts from department store prices.

The company, which opened its first store in 1961, also operates locations under the Rugged Wearhouse banner.
