Promotions and new on the job

• Tony Salamone has joined Blaine Pharmaceuticals, manufacturer of over-the-counter products, as director of national accounts. Salamone was with Shire, U.S. as director of trade sales.

• Tom Brand has been named controller at Cast-Fab Technologies and Security Systems Equipment Corp.

• Janet K. Williamson has been named administrative vice president at North Side Bank and Trust Co.

• Catherine Bidleman has joined Northern Kentucky Committee Action Commission as director of finance.

• Tom Gagliardo has joined LPK (Libby Perszyk Kathman) as design delineator. He was with Strata-G Communications.

• Billy White has been named assistant manager of Kentucky Rebuild Corporation, service division.

• Michael Lee, principal at Proxi Market Solutions, has been appointed to the board of directors of the American Heart Association, Cincinnati division.

• Tim King has joined CG Design Group, marketing communications agency, as vice president of brand strategy and business development.

• Ken Williams has joined Gordon Construction Inc. as project superintendent.

• Dr. John Whittaker has joined Kendle International Inc. as country manager, United Kingdom.

• Ann E. Willey has joined think3 Inc., supplier of product development solutions, as vice president of worldwide corporate communications.

• Teresa Malott has been named center director of the Crestview Hills Sylvan Learning Center. Malott was director of education of the Crestview Hills Center since January 2003. Prior to that she was the director of education at the West Chester Sylvan Center for 10 years, where she earned the Director of Education of the Year Award at the Sylvan National Convention in 2001.

Awards

• James P. Connor II, a Cincinnati-based accredited investment fiduciary auditor with Investors Capital Corp., is among the first to be named a Circle of Excellence member by Nationwide Financial.

• The following have received Top Advisor Awards from Brecek & Young Advisors Inc., a downtown-based financial services company: Thomas H. Wingo, Joseph F. Moretti Jr. and Neil R. Bourgeois, were named Top Advisors for Advisory Services. Thomas H. Wingo was also the recipient of Brecek & Young Advisors' Master's Club Achievement Award, and his father, William T. Wingo, was honored as Brecek & Young Advisors Inc.'s 2004 Legend.

• Total Quality Logistics Inc., a third-party freight logistics company, is named No. 1 Fastest Growing Tri-State Private Company in 2003.

• Clarence Brooks, industries program supervisor for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, was selected by the agency to represent it as its 2004 Milton J. Samuelson Career Achievement Award Nominee, and Carl Burton, an employee of the paper and tape department, has been honored with the agency's Bradley Kaylor Award. CAB also nominated him for the National Industries for the Blind Peter J. Salmon Employee of the Year Award.

• Stand Energy Corp. was recently recognized by the Coors Brewing Co. as a Gold Supplier Award winner for 2003.

• Thomas O. Bowns, partner with Mellott & Mellott, P.L.L. has been accepted as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Peer Review Program Technical Reviewers' Advisory Task Force. Bowns is the first technical reviewer from Ohio to serve on this national task force.

• The Cincinnati Bar Association presented long-time Goodwill board member and former chairman, Dennis Barron with the John W. Warrington Community Service Award. Barron has been a board member and volunteer for the Goodwill organization for 38 years.

Name change

• Alexander-Patterson Group Inc. has changed its name to APG Office Furnishings.
