COVINGTON - Aaron Dishon will be sentenced Aug. 2 for the rape and killing of a 13-year-old girl last year.
Dishon, 22, of Covington, pleaded guilty Friday to the rape, robbery and murder of Tiffany Farmer in exchange for prosecutors not seeking the death penalty.
Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Crockett will recommend life in prison without the possibility of parole until 2028.
Dishon's trial had been scheduled for Aug. 9 in Kenton Circuit Court.
Dishon admitted during Friday's court appearance that he forced Farmer to have sex with him before strangling her. He said he killed her during an argument about his drug addiction.
Prosecutors say Dishon then took Farmer's jewelry and sold it for $20 to buy beer and drugs.
Farmer's body was found stuffed under a bed in the West Covington apartment Dishon kept over his grandparent's home. Farmer, who was in the eighth grade, normally stayed at her father's home in Independence but was visiting her mother in Covington the day she was killed.
A wrongful death suit filed by Farmer's estate has also been settled out of court. The terms of the settlement were not made public.
Farmer's father, Charles Farmer of Independence, filed the civil suit in April in Kenton Circuit Court.
The suit claimed Dishon's grandparents, Erna and Leroy McCall of Covington, were negligent, in part, by not warning neighbors their grandson was moving into an apartment in their home as he tried to quit using drugs.
