Teen killed in crash not wearing seat belt

TURTLECREEK TWP. - A 17-year-old Lebanon teenager was killed Thursday in a one-car crash on Wilmington Road just outside Lebanon.

Sarah Turner of Maplewood Drive was pronounced dead at the scene after losing control of her vehicle, which went off the side of the road and struck a ditch and utility pole, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

She was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The crash occurred about 4:25 p.m. in the 1500 block of Wilmington Road.

Wall collapse prompts demolition of building

WEST UNION - One of the oldest buildings in West Union was being torn down late Thursday after a portion of a rear wall collapsed, making the building structurally unsound.

The partial collapse occurred at a three-story brick building located at Ohio 125 and Ohio 247 about 6:15 a.m. Thursday, fire officials said.

Two employees inside the 125 Grill Restaurant on the first floor escaped unharmed.

No one was inside a health food store, also on the first floor, Thursday morning. The upper two floors were vacant.

A three-block surrounding area was blocked off for safety precautions before officials determined the structure was unsafe and had to be torn down.
