It's been a busy summer of two major events for the FreeStore/FoodBank.

At the second-annual Cincinnati Bengals Taste of the NFL Celebrity Dinner, 600 guests mixed and mingled with Bengals players, coaches and alumni and sampled dinner-by-the-bite from 26 Greater Cincinnati restaurants.

Taste of the NFL is a National Football League-sanctioned event which aims to raise hunger awareness and benefit hunger relief organizations in cities with NFL teams.

The event raised $65,000 for the FreeStore/FoodBank. Event chairs were Cheryl and Ross Love.

Hosts were Marvin Lewis and Troy and Katie Blackburn. Shayne Graham, kicker, was the Honorary Player, and Jean-Robert de Cavel was the Honorary Chef. Provident Bank was the presenting sponsor.

Earlier, the FreestoreFoodbank's first Hunger Walk drew 1,000 runners and walkers to Sawyer Point.

The event raised more than $30,000 for more than 65 food pantries, emergency shelters and other non-profit service agencies.

Channel 12's John Lomax emceed the race. Chairmen were Russell Mackey and Travis Green. U.S. Bank was the presenting sponsor.
