A stormy weekend that produced slightly more than an inch of rain created problems for some area residents.
Showers and thunderstorms Saturday and early Sunday caused power outages around Greater Cincinnati, with trees and limbs knocking down power lines.
About 15,000 Cinergy customers lost power during the storms Saturday and Sunday, said Cinergy spokesman Steve Brash. The outages were "widely scattered" and only about 800 customers remained without power Sunday evening.
Cinergy crews hoped to have electricity service restored to those customers - primarily in western Hamilton County - by Sunday night.
The National Weather Service said there were reports of trees and power lines down Saturday night and early Sunday in the Williamsburg and Batavia areas in Clermont County; in Mount Orab in Brown County; near Middletown in Warren County; Sharonville in Hamilton County; and Burlington in Boone County.
The warm, sticky, wet weather will continue for the next few days with highs in the upper to mid-80s, lows in the upper 60s and a persistent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
"Warm and humid," said Don Hughes, National Weather Service meteorologist. "It's not that much hotter than normal, but it's humid."
The chances of showers and thunderstorms and heavy rain remains constant through Tuesday night, Hughes said.
By late Sunday, a total of 0.61 of an inch of rain had fallen. On Saturday, 0.54 of an inch of rain was recorded.
The rainfall total for the area so far this year stood at 24.83 inches Sunday evening, slightly ahead 24.01, which is normal for this time of year, Hughes said.
