ODOT meeting discusses state's long-range plan
The Enquirer
The Ohio Department of Transportation on Monday held a regional public meeting to review its long-range plan, titled Access Ohio 2030. The draft list of planned projects includes major overhauls of Interstates 71 and 75 in Greater Cincinnati.
About 35 officials and residents attended and gave feedback on the plan. Projected costs of all the potential projects in the statewide plan could total as much as $75.2 billion over the next 24 years, if certain federal funding levels are met. The proposed expansion and overhaul of I-75 from the Ohio River through Butler and Warren Counties alone could take more than $1 billion.
That feedback is being gathered from 20 different public hearings statewide and incorporated into a final document that could be submitted to federal authorities as soon as October. This is the first time in 10 years that the document has been updated - it is required to be maintained under federal regulations.
