Convergys in deal with Romania Telecom

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati-based Convergys Corp. has signed a contract to license its Infinys software to Romania Telecom, a leading Romanian telecommunications and Internet integrated solutions provider.

Terms were not disclosed.

Romania Telecom, which has more than 4.3 million customers, will use Infinys for rating and billing.

Kroger, others get development money

Kroger Co., Ford Motor Co. and Formica Corp. were the beneficiaries of grants approved this week by Ohio's Controlling Board.

The board approved $4.8 million for construction of a parking garage, part of a project to help keep Kroger's headquarters in downtown Cincinnati.

Ford Motor received a $550,000 grant for machinery at its Sharonville plant, and Formica received a $150,000 grant to help defray costs associated with moving its headquarters to Cincinnati from New Jersey.

Standard Register contract renewed

DAYTON - HealthTrust Purchasing Group, a health-care purchasing organization, has renewed its three-year agreement with Standard Register as its only contracted forms management company for standard and custom documents.

HealthTrust member hospitals and clinics will have access to Dayton-based Standard Register's entire portfolio of products, programs and services, including print-on-demand and copying services, e-procurement solutions and consulting. The contract, effective July 1, is valued at $40 million annually.

Standard Register serves thousands of health-care organizations, including five of the top seven health-care group purchasing organizations.

Mobile Computer Guy now has own office

MILFORD - The Mobile Computer Guy is still mobile, but he has a new base of operations. After running his business from home since his February start-up, Randy Noll has moved to a second-floor office at 235 Main St.

Service, however, still includes visits to a client's home or place of work.

"We began taking calls from people asking if they could drop off their PC or laptop," Noll said.

At the new office in the Old Milford Building, customers can drop in to learn more and schedule a technician visit, or can bring in a computer for service.
