Tristate business summary



5 firms to detail improvements

Five area companies will outline how they've improved operations in a "Best of the Best" benchmarking case study sponsored by Midwest Manufacturing Solutions July 30. The companies: United States Playing Card Co.; Lancaster Colony Corp.'s Candle-ite Division; Fidelity Investments; Long-Stanton Manufacturing Co. and Ghent Manufacturing. The free event starts at 7:30 a.m. at Manor House in Mason. To register: (513) 381-7200.

Hoffa to meet Ohio Teamsters

Teamsters International President Jim Hoffa will speak to the Ohio Conference of Teamsters meeting in downtown Cincinnati starting Monday. The four-day event at the Millennium Hotel is expected to draw 500 Teamster officials from across Ohio. Plans for the November election are expected to be the focus of the meetings.

CORRECTION: Bell spot-checks

A story Wednesday about the Cincinnati Bell Yellow Pages should have said that the company's spot-checks for distribution include a phone call to one person on each street on a distribution route.
