Head injuries fatal to Hamilton infant

HAMILTON - City police and the Hamilton County Coroner's Office are investigating the death of a 6-week-old infant.

Just before midnight Tuesday, police were called to the 700 block of Walnut Drive on a report of an infant being dropped on her head.

An ambulance took Cardasia Goens to Fort Hamilton Hospital. A helicopter transferred her to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead Wednesday.

Man found dead ID'd as homicide victim

OVER-THE-RHINE - Cincinnati police on Wednesday released the identity of a homicide victim found on Monday.

Carl H. Watson, 74, was found dead in an Elm Street apartment Monday. The case was not considered a homicide until the Hamilton County Coroner's Office on Tuesday determined that Watson died of blunt trauma.

Police investigating links in 3 robberies

Northern Kentucky police departments are investigating three similar convenience-store robberies late last week.

"Based on everything we know about each of these three crimes, we think it's probably the same suspect," said Casey Kilgore, a Fort Thomas police detective.

The Citgo gas station on Royal Drive in Fort Mitchell was robbed July 15. Fort Mitchell police were called after a man with a gun entered and demanded money, then fled with about $90.

At 2:30 p.m. July 16, the BP Oil Co. gas station at Highland and Grand avenues in Fort Thomas was robbed, Kilgore said. The robber stole $350, he said. Kilgore said a BP in Florence also was robbed last week.
