Mason's Marshall commits to Maryland
Sports digest
The Enquirer and wire reports
Zach Marshall, a Mason High School tackle rated one of Ohio's top linemen, has given an oral commitment to University of Maryland.
Marshall, entering his senior season, is the No. 4-rated offensive lineman in Ohio by TheInsiders.com. The 6-foot-7, 280-pound Marshall also considered Michigan State and Purdue.
"Maryland is in dire need of offensive tackles, and I felt a real connection with the coaches when I visited," Marshall said. "It's a place I feel I can play early."
Marshall helped lead Mason to the Division I playoffs last season, and he will start again at right tackle this season. He was an All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference (Buckeye Division) second-team choice last year.
