Union employees at Middletown's Aeronca Inc. vote today on a proposal to end their weeklong strike against the maker of aircraft and aerospace components.
Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 2535 set up picket lines after rejecting an earlier proposal July 31, when their old three-year agreement expired. Ken Hanson, general manager for the unit of Toronto-based Magellan AerospaceCorp., declined to reveal details, except to say it also would run for three years.
Officials of Local 2535, which represents 160 employees at Aeronca, didn't return a call for comment.
Delta stock hits 25-year low
Shares in Delta Air Lines closed Friday at a 25-year low of $4.11, down 39 cents.Stock for the Atlanta-based airline, which operates its second-largest hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, has lost more than 65 percent of its value this year, as the company has hinted it would consider bankruptcy if it can't get wage concessions from its unionized pilots.
