Siegel Design Center has examples on Web

WEST CHESTER TWP. - Siegel Design Center Ltd. now has a Web site that features examples of the company's work.

Owner Dan Siegel began more than 30 years ago doing wallpapering and painting, and gradually expanded his business as customers asked him to take on larger and more complex projects, both additions and remodeling.

Cornerstone opens new cafe in Loveland

LOVELAND - A West Chester Township cafe in July opened another location, at 10576 Loveland-Madeira Road.

The second Cornerstone Cafe and Bakehouse, like the original, serves soups, salads and sandwiches as well as baked goods. The menu features a variety of coffees and other beverages.

The new cafe is in the space formerly occupied by Bonjour Cafe. It is open Monday-Saturday . Cornerstone also provides catering services.

In West Chester, Cornerstone is at 6096 West Chester Road, in the Union Centre area.

Snow cone booth at Glenway Crossing

WESTWOOD - An entrepreneurial college student has brought snow to Western Hills this summer.

Nino Loreto, a business major at Northern Kentucky University, launched Snow Works, a Hawaiian shaved ice business. The stand is at the entrance to Glenway Crossing Shopping Center on Glenway Avenue. It will remain open through the summer.

"He will remain open through September, and possibly into October if we have an Indian summer," said Loreto's father, Remy Loreto. "Then Nino plans to do indoor events like carnivals and corporate events, possibly incorporating smoothies into his plan."

Trade group honors physical fitness expert

PLEASANT RIDGE - Physical fitness expert Brian Calkins has been named one of the top 55 personal trainers in the nation by the American Association of Personal Trainers.

The Florida-based professional trade association seeks to improve industry standards for personal trainers. It chose the top 55 trainers based on certification, type of work, degrees and experience.

Calkins, president of HealthStyle Fitness Inc., has been an independent personal trainer for about six years. He earned a bachelor's degree from Thomas More College and certifications from the American Council on Exercise and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
