HAMILTON - A Liberty Township man who is accused of twice trying to kill his wife last month has been indicted on seven felony charges in connection with the two attacks.
A Butler County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Christopher Rezos on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of felonious assault and one count of aggravated burglary.
Rezos could face at least 65 years in prison if convicted on all the charges, authorities said.
Rezos, 35, attacked his wife, Amy Rezos, 35, in a West Chester motel room July 2, police said. She told officers that Chris Rezos beat her with a flashlight, tried to suffocate her with a pillow and tried to drown her in the room's bathtub.
Facing charges but out on bond, Christopher Rezos hid in his wife's van on July 26 and shot her twice in the back of the head while she was driving to work, Butler County sheriff's investigators said.
Amy Rezos survived and is recovering at home from her injuries.
Chris Rezos remains in the Butler County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
Kevin Jones, Amy Rezos' brother, said the family was pleased with the indictment.
"That's more than what we were expecting," Jones said. "It sounds like the prosecutor is really going after it. Any way you look at it, it's a long time behind bars."
