Injury knocks out Capriati in tennis
Jennifer Capriati pulled out of the Athens Games because of a hamstring injury and was replaced by Lisa Raymond. Capriati, who won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 at Barcelona, Spain, told coach Zina Garrison on Sunday she couldn't play in Athens because of the injury, which has been bothering her since July. Raymond, 31, who also will play doubles with Martina Navratilova, was picked for the singles spot vacated by Capriati, spokesman Randy Walker said. "She's the highest-ranked player who is in the tournament who wasn't competing in singles," Walker said of the No. 40-ranked Raymond, who has four singles titles on the WTA tour.
