GEORGIOUPOLIS, Greece - Marion Jones is firmly on the 400-meter relay team and, if all goes as planned, she will run all three rounds of the event at the Athens Olympics, the U.S. women's coach said Thursday.

Coach Sue Humphrey said Jones and three other sprinters had separated themselves from the others.

The women's relay squad would be, in order, Angela Williams, Jones, Lauryn Williams and LaTasha Colander.

It's the same team that ran 41.37 seconds in Munich on Sunday.

"That's three-tenths of a second off the world record," Humphrey said before she and a group of athletes left for Athens Thursday evening to participate in tonight's Opening Ceremony.

Jones has qualified for only the long jump after winning an unprecedented five medals in Sydney four years ago.

ARCHERY: South Koreans broke three world records Thursday in men's and women's events in the ranking rounds of the Olympic competition.

The team of Park, Lee Sung-jin and Yun Mi-jin also set a record of 2,030 for the 216-arrow event. Yun also was a member of the team that set the previous mark of 1,994 at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

In the men's competition, Im Dong-hyun set a 72-arrow record with a score of 687, breaking the mark of 685.

Jennifer Nichols of Cheyenne, Wyo., was the top American woman, finishing 19th with 638. Stephanie White-Arnold of Portland, Ind., was 36th with 623. Janet Dykman of El Monte, Calif., was 44th.

MEN'S SOCCER: In its first Olympic competition since its country was shattered by war, Iraq upset Portugal in a come-from-behind 4-2 victory.

Mahmoud Younis put Iraq ahead 3-2 in the 50th minute, and Sadit Salih scored during injury time to seal the victory.

• Alberto Gilardino scored with six minutes remaining to help heavily favored Italy salvage a 2-2 tie with Ghana.

• Jose Cardozo scored two first-half goals, and Pablo Gimenez had a goal and an assist to lead Paraguay to a 4-3 victory over Japan.

• Morocco was forced to play a man short after Jamal Alioui received a red card in the 59th minute, but still tied Costa Rica 0-0.

TRACK AND FIELD: Greek sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou were taken to a hospital early Friday after being involved in a traffic accident a few hours before they were to face an International Olympic Committee disciplinary board for failing to attend a doping test.

Police said the pair were on a motorcycle when the accident occurred - on the day of the Olympics Opening Ceremony - and that they had not been seriously hurt.

OPENING NIGHT: Tonight's Opening Ceremonies will honor Greece's ancient values and culture, which led to the creation of the ancient games. The cauldron will be lit, capping the Olympic flame's 46,800-mile global journey through 26 nations.

Basketball player Dawn Staley was named to carry the U.S. flag during the parade of nations. "I'll walk into the stadium as proud as proud can be," she said.

Staley, 34, plays for the WNBA's Charlotte Sting.
