With its breathtaking valley views, the hillside home of Deborah Jo and R.C. Durr in Richwood was the perfect setting for this year's Dinsmore Homestead annual gala fund-raiser.

The Durrs hosted this year's event in memory of their friend, the late Hannah Baird, a founding member of the Dinsmore Homestead Foundation.

The evening, chaired by Betsy Conrad, featured cocktails and appetizers, as well as silent and live auctions.

Dinner was served under a white canopy while guests enjoyed musicians, including the Swan Chamber Players, the Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers and Duo Dolce.

Nearly 250 guests attended the gala, which grossed more than $40,000.

The historic Dinsmore Homestead in Burlington depicts rural life in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

It is a resource for students, scholars and nature enthusiasts, as well as area artists who come to sketch and paint.

Antiques and historic architecture enthusiasts can study the house and the original accumulated belongings of five generations of the Dinsmore family.
