DELHI TWP. - Sister of Charity Jean Marie Amolsch spent more than five decades teaching.
After serving as a primary and intermediate grade teacher in Memphis, Tenn., Albuquerque, N.M., and in Colorado, she taught business and religion in secondary schools in Cincinnati.
Sister Jean Marie died Aug. 10 at Mother Margaret nursing home in Delhi Township. She was 98.
Born Lorraine Amolsch in Laurium, Mich., she was a Sister of Charity for 79 years.
She was an excellent pinochle player, said her friend, Sister Mary Agnes. "Someone should have videotaped her playing cards. She would pick up the cards one at a time and by the time she had them all in her hand, she knew exactly what she would do with them."
Sister Jean Marie stopped teaching in 1970 but remained in the schools as an office worker.
She retired to the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse in 1984 and stayed active in the gift shop and visiting nursing homes.
In her free time, she enjoyed watching sports, crocheting and practicing piano.
She is survived by a sister, Gerri White, of Folsom Calif.
The service has been held.
Burial was in the Sisters of Charity Cemetery in Delhi Township.
Memorials can be made to the Sisters of Charity Retirement Fund, 5900 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, OH 45051.
