ERLANGER - Detectives arrested two men Tuesday they say robbed an Advantage Bank last week.
Charles Watkins, 23, of Elsmere is charged with robbery, and Curtis Gausepohl, 18, of Florence is charged with complicity to commit robbery. A juvenile was also taken into protective custody in connection with the robbery.
Erlanger police say Watkins, with help from Gausepohl, robbed the Advantage Bank at 3522 Dixie Highway on Thursday. No one was injured, and investigators didn't disclose how much money was taken.
While police released few details of the arrest, they said Watkins was captured at 9 a.m. in Covington. Gausepohl was arrested sometime later in the day. The arrests were part of an investigation by the FBI and Covington and Erlanger police.
They are the third and fourth arrests this summer in 11 bank robberies in Northern Kentucky this year.
On July 26, Gregory A. Holloway of Covington was arrested for the attempted robbery of the PNC Bank on Mall Road. Police believe Holloway had successfully robbed the PNC Bank on Madison Avenue in Covington and the Huntington Bank on Decoursey Pike in Latonia.
And on Aug. 11, Emil J. Schmidt of Covington was charged in the robbery of the Bank of Kentucky on Ashwood Circle in Fort Wright.
