Victoria Morgan, artistic director of Cincinnati Ballet, is one of five finalists in Pacific Northwest Ballet's search for a new artistic director.
Morgan was invited to submit her name to the Seattle-based dance company, one of the nation's largest. Pacific Northwest has an operating budget of $18 million and a company of 49 dancers compared to Cincinnati Ballet, with a $5 million budget and 30 dancers.
The next round of interviewing is in September. Pacific Northwest's leadership team will retire at the end of the 2004-05 season.
The new artistic director is expected to be announced by early 2005.
