High bank yields
Following are some of the highest nationwide yields on five types of accounts, according to the "100 Highest Yields" consumer-investor newsletter. Accounts are federally insured up to $100,000 a person, including principal and interest.
Yields are based upon an institution's compounding method and interest rate on Aug. 17 for the lowest minimum deposit available. CD figures are for fixed rates only.
