Truck will be ready when station opens

Neighbors news briefs

The Enquirer

LIBERTY TWP. - The township's new 110-foot aerial platform firetruck, which arrived early this month, won't be in full service until the new Ohio 747 fire house opens in October, says Fire Chief Paul Stumpf.

The $874,000 vehicle must be outfitted with radios, hoses, nozzles, ropes and other equipment, which won't be added until the ladder truck can be parked securely inside the new firehouse.

"We also want to make sure everyone is trained on (using) it," Stumpf says.

A dedication for the firehouse - which will become the new department headquarters - has been set tentatively for Oct. 16, says Dina Minneci, township administrator.

After-hours event focuses on business

MARIEMONT - The Eastern Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a "Business-After-Hours" program Wednesday at the Marielders building, 6923 Madisonville Road, just off Mariemont Square.

Networking and dinner will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. After that, there will be roundtable discussions on topics such as sales and marketing, business longevity and financial issues.

No reservations are needed. The program is free to all prospective business members.
