Job seekers can get suit dry-cleaned free

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP - Job seekers can take advantage of a special offer from Appearance Plus Cleaners.

Between now and Aug. 31, the company will provide free cleaning of one suit for any recent local high school or college graduate who is preparing for a job interview. The program, called Dapper Diploma, requires only that the grad present his or her diploma or other proof of graduation, along with the garment.

A second program, The Big Interview, offers any Cincinnati job seeker one free suit cleaning before an interview. That offer is good through Sept. 30.

Mother, son offer massage, reflexology

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP - A mother-son team has opened a center that features complementary therapies.

Peaceful Gardens Massage & Reflexology LLC is at 8466 Vine St. just south of Wyoming. It offers massage therapy by Andrew Lanverman, who is certified by the Ohio Medical Board.

Lanverman's mother, Jane Peace Lanverman, is a certified reflexologist.

The two believe massage and reflexology stimulate the body's circulatory and immune systems. Their clienteleincludes people who enjoy these treatments for the relaxation benefits alone.

Couple's book on tea promotes weight loss

ALEXANDRIA - A couple who believe that drinking green tea has had numerous benefits for their health have published a book to help others.

The Green Tea Lifestyle: One Couple's Discovery of Healthy Weight Loss Without Dieting, is the recent project of Gillian and Keith Bales.

The Baleses say their new tea regimen has enabled them to lose weight and improve their overall health. They say research shows green tea can help speed up metabolism.

Craft and gift shop opens in S.E. Indiana

METAMORA - A Brookville resident has opened a specialty craft and gift shop in Metamora.

Sarah Weisbrodt is the owner of Lilacs & Laughter, located in the Grande Junction Shops, Building 53, in Metamora's Duck Creek Crossing area. The boutique stocks Bill Campbell pottery, collector plates and prints of artist Donald Zolan, Indiana-made Clifty Creek soy candles, handcrafted walking sticks and canes from Eastern Kentucky, and hand-painted slates by a Middletown artist.
