Crowe sunk teeth into role, reports say

Russell Crowe may have had a Mike Tyson moment while making his new movie about boxer Jim Braddock. A Brit tab swears that Iron Russ bit the ear of bodyguard Mark "Spud" Carroll during a brawl on the set of The Cinderella Man in Toronto.

Crowe's people claim that the report is a low blow.

One witness insists there "definitely was a scuffle of some sort."

According to the London Daily Mirror, the "Gladiator" and his protector were sharing pints when Carroll suggested that it was time for Crowe to go.

That allegedly so enraged the Beautiful Mind star that he bit Carroll's ear.

The source says, "They're very competitive boys. Spud is a former rugby player. But after the incident Spud wasn't seen on the set for five days."

Crowe's people say they were just fooling around.
