81-year-old hit by van in critical condition

HYDE PARK - An 81-year old man was in critical condition late Saturday after he was hit by a Ford Club Wagon van near Kroger in Hyde Park.

Authorities say Robert Prather, 68, hit Robert Kendall around 10 a.m. while he was on a sidewalk near the Kroger parking lot.

Kendall was taken to University Hospital, authorities said.

Two-car collision kills one, injures family of five

GREENDALE, Ind. - A two-car accident near Lorey Lane and U.S. 50 early Saturday killed one man and sent a family of five to the hospital.

Authorities said a vehicle driven by Steven McLafferty, 34, of Rising Sun, collided with a vehicle driven by Tammie Pinson, of Holt Summit, Mo., shortly before 2 a.m.

Tammie Pinson and her husband, Calvin Pinson, and their three children were taken to Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg with unspecified injuries. The names of the children were not available.

Police search for suspect in street-corner shooting

PRICE HILL - Cincinnati police are searching for a 28-year-old man they believe shot and killed another man Friday morning at the corner of Warsaw and Fairbanks avenues - the city's 49th homicide of the year.

Police are looking for Aris Kareem Smith, 28, whose address is unknown. Smith is described as black, 6-foot-3-, 180 pounds with a muscular build and long dreadlocks. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The victim was Ira McBean, a 28-year-old Price Hill man. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.

Man accused of robbing two at gunpoint sought

SOUTH FAIRMOUNT - Cincinnati police are searching for a man who robbed two other men at gunpoint while they were in a car along Queen City Avenue.

The robbery occurred about 4:30 p.m. Friday at 2203 Queen City Ave. Reports say a black male, between 20 and 23 years old, jumped into a vehicle occupied by two men, put a gun to the driver's head and told him to drive before demanding money. The man eventually fled with $175. Neither of the men was harmed.

Police say the suspected robber is about 5-foot-10-inches, 150 pounds and was wearing a blue basketball jersey with red and white lettering and dark pants. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.

Body found, may be missing Adams Co. woman

LYNX - Adams County police found the body of a woman Thursday that might be Leona Meyer, an Adams County woman missing for more than a week.

Police said they received a tip Aug. 21 that a car Meyer was last seen in was in Lynx. Police looked for a body and used a cadaver dog, but nothing turned up.

More than 10 officers went back to the area Thursday and found the body after an hour.

Lynx is more than 50 miles from Cincinnati. Police said the woman's identity still has not been confirmed by the coroner's office.
