The Enquirer
Stories about Fatma Saad Abdulaziz, the 8-year-old Iraqi girl who will be recovering in Greater Cincinnati for about two months after receiving life-saving open-heart surgery on Wednesday, have prompted inquiries on how to offer help.
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is not seeking donations for its expenses, nor are several doctors who worked without charging, said spokesman Jim Feuer. Fatma's host family, Marian and Dick Tarvin of Anderson Township, said they do not need gifts. They suggest people send donations to Shevet Achim, a Christian charity that spent thousands of dollars helping Fatma get care in Jordan before coming to Cincinnati. Send mail to Shevet Achim's U.S. office at P.O. Box 1006 Rocky Face, GA 30740 or visit www.shevet.org.
