Federal and CSX railroad investigators are trying to determine what caused the four-car derailment outside the city's downtown at 9:50 a.m. There were no injuries reported. Around 40 firefighters and other personnel responded. Heavy-equipment operators were expected to work through the night to lift and remove the two tankers carrying paraffin wax and two boxcars that contained paper. Loveland Police Chief Dennis Rees was unsure how long it would take to clear the track of the derailment and 49 other cars. He said Ohio 48 into downtown was blocked and would likely be shut down until some time today.
