OXFORD - Police are trying to catch up with the baseball fan who caught Adam Dunn's 40th home run.
Police think the man who snagged Dunn's ball Monday night at Great American Ball Park is Charles Baker, 27, of Oxford.
He was being interviewed on Fox Sports Net after catching the ball, and caught the eye of an off-duty police officer who said he recognized him. After the officer called in to Miami University police, they tuned in to see a familiar face.
Baker is wanted by university police on charges of obstructing official business and driving under suspension.
"We got a phone call from an off-duty officer from another agency saying he had recognized (Baker) while watching the game," Miami Police Lt. Andrew Powers said.
Miami officials called to see if Cincinnati officers at the ballpark and Reds security could find Baker, but they were unsuccessful.
"No arrest was made," Powers said Tuesday.
Baker was originally stopped on Ohio 73 in Oxford Aug. 16.
"An officer pulled him over on a traffic violation and (the driver) got out of the car and ran," Powers said.
Monday night wasn't the first time a wanted person has been spotted at the 2-year-old Great American Ball Park.
David Horton was wanted when he appeared on the Great American Jumbotron's "Kiss Cam" smooching his girlfriend in May 2003. His parole officer spotted the Westwood man on the screen and had him arrested. He was sentenced to prison the next month for drug and probation violations.
