Judge drops violence charge against officer
A charge of domestic violence against a Cincinnati police officer was dismissed Tuesday, and the department was in the process of reinstating his police powers.
Officer Alvin Triggs, 38, was accused in June of domestic violence by his estranged wife, Tori. But the charge and an accompanying protective order were dismissed Tuesday by Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Guy Guckenberger.
Triggs works in District 2.
His police powers were suspended during the pending case, but they are expected to be restored.
Man, teen face charges in shooting
WEST CHESTER TWP. - A Middletown man and a West Chester youth are facing a long list of charges, police say, after they fired a pistol in a Beckett Ridge residential area.
There was no reported property damage, and no one was hurt in the Monday evening shooting.
Travis Mosley, 21, of Middletown and the 17-year-old juvenile are charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business, discharging a firearm on a prohibited premises, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse, said West Chester Police Sgt. Erik Niehaus.
Mosley is also charged with having weapons under disability, and the juvenile is also charged with discharging a firearm while intoxicated.
Police were called to the area of Pine Valley and Pepperwood drives about 8:15 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired, Niehaus said.
Officers were told that two men in a maroon car were seen in the area when the shots rang out.
The car was parked at a home in the area, and the suspects were near the car.
It appears that four shots were fired, Niehaus said.

HAMILTON - A Cincinnati man has been convicted in Butler County Common Pleas Court of importuning and attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
David Worst, 25, could face as much as two years in prison when he is sentenced Oct. 12.
Worst had set up a meeting with what he thought was a minor he had met on the Internet, and was arrested when he showed up at the meeting place in Hamilton.
