Thriftway to close two more stores
Thriftway, the struggling local supermarket chain operated by Florida-based Winn-Dixie Stores Inc., is preparing to shut down two more stores in Greater Cincinnati - at 1535 W. Galbraith Road in North College Hill and another at 5150 Glencrossing Way in Westwood. The two stores will hold clearance sales through today, after which time the stores will be closed, according to store employees. Thriftway announced in April that it would pull out of the market because of its steadily declining market share and has already closed or sold 10 of its 21 stores here and plans to close the remaining stores by the end of September.
